Following Tampa’s elimination from the playoffs, only the RailRiders remain active among the full-season affiliates. They and the DSL Yanks have one more week of games before the offseason descends.
Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (70-51): JP Sears continued his resurgence and pitched the RailRiders to a 4-0 win over Syracuse in the first game on Saturday, while Scranton lost the second game 6-3 despite Esteven Florial’s two home runs.
Game 1
- Star of the Game: JP Sears – 6.1 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 10 K, 90 pitches (53 strikes). Sears tied his season high for strikeouts. In his last four starts, he’s thrown 24.1 innings, given up three earned runs, walked one, and struck out 35
- Oswaldo Cabrera: 1-for-3, 1 home run (2), 1 RBI, 1 run scored, 1 strikeout. Cabrera has homered in two straight games following his promotion
- Greg Allen: 2-for-3, 1 RBI, 1 run scored, 2 stolen bases
- Andrew Velazquez: 1-for-2, 1 double, 2 RBI, 1 strikeout
- Nick Nelson: 0.2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 0 K, 12 pitches (8 strikes)
Game 2
- Star of the Game: Estevan Florial – 3-for-4, 2 home runs (13), 2 RBI, 3 runs scored, 1 strikeout, 1 stolen base. After Saturday’s outburst, Florial has 13 homers and 13 stolen bases on the season and has lifted his OPS to .750

- Rob Brantly: 2-for-3, 1 strikeout
- Sócrates Brito: 1-for-4, 1 double, 1 strikeout

- Greg Weissert: 1.1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 2 K, 20 pitches (12 strikes)
DSL Yankees: A hard-fought intra-squad game saw Yanks 1 (29-25) score two runs in the bottom of the ninth to stun Yanks 2 (27-27) 2-1.
- Star of the Game: Jared Serna – 1-for-3, 1 RBI, 1 walk, 1 strikeout. Serna hit the walk-off single in the ninth
- Pitching Star of the Game: Luis Arejula – 5 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 7 K. He got no run support, but Arejula dominated for Yanks 2
- Pitching Star of the Game: Miguel Pozo – 4 IP, 3 H, 1 ER, 3 BB, 8 K. Pozo nearly matched Arejula zero for zero but was actually in line for the loss before the ninth-inning rally
- Dayro Perez: 3-for-5, 1 double, 1 run scored, 1 strikeout, 2 stolen bases
- Daury Arias: 1-for-2, 1 triple, 1 RBI, 2 walks
- Christopher Familia: 1-for-2, 1 run scored, 2 walks, 1 strikeout
