Dermis Garcia has gotten all the headlines for his homer hitting this season, and rightly so. But another Garcia should command similar attention for his power surge: Anthony Garcia has a share of the FCL home run lead.
FCL Yankees (20-10): Despite Garcia’s contributions, the Yanks fell behind quickly and were defeated by the Phillies 10-6.
- Star of the Game: Anthony Garcia – 2-for-4, 1 home run (8), 2 RBI, 1 run scored, 1 strikeout. Garcia’s first-inning home run gave the Yankees their only lead of the evening, quickly relinquished in the bottom of the inning. He has eight home runs, tied atop the FCL with the Marlins’ Osiris Johnson
- Grant Richardson: 1-for-4, 1 double, 1 RBI, 1 run scored, 2 strikeouts
- Antonio Gomez: 2-for-3, 1 RBI, 1 run scored, 1 walk, 1 strikeout
- Yorlin Calderon: 2 IP, 6 H, 7 R (4 ER), 1 BB, 2 K
- Edward Paredes: 1.2 IP, 2 H, 2 R (0 ER), 2 BB, 1 K
- Kenlly Montas: 2.1 IP, 2 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, 2 K
DSL Yankees: Both Yankees DSL teams had games cancelled on Monday as DR was inundated by Tropical Depression Grace.
