The rookie-level teams took over, as they do each and every Monday, and the FCL Yanks doubleheader featured a milestone for one of the newest Bombers.
FCL Yankees (16-6): The Yanks took a 6-4 lead into the sixth inning of the first game thanks to four home runs before blowing it late and losing 9-6, then shut out Tigers East in the second game 3-0.
Game 1
- Star of the Game: Cooper Bowman – 2-for-4, 1 home run (1), 1 RBI, 2 runs scored, 1 strikeout, 2 stolen bases. The fourth-round pick out of Louisville is off to a fast start at 4-for-8 with a homer and a double through two games
- Alex Vargas: 2-for-4, 1 run scored, 1 stolen base
- Antonio Gomez: 1-for-1, 1 home run (1), 1 RBI, 1 run scored. Gomez went back-to-back with Bowman in the first inning
- Raimfer Salinas: 1-for-4, 1 home run (3), 2 RBI, 1 run scored, 1 strikeout. Salinas is working on an eight game hitting streak
- Anthony Garcia: 1-for-3, 1 home run (5), 2 RBI, 1 run scored, 2 strikeouts. Garcia pulled into the team lead for homers with five on the year
- Harold Cortijo: 1 IP, 1 H, 3 ER, 2 BB, 1 K
- Nolan Martinez: 1 IP, 1 H, 1 R (0 ER), 0 BB, 1 K
- Edward Paredes: 2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 1 K

Game 2
- Star of the Game: Juan Carela – 5 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 5 K. The 19-year-old has been a revelation for the Yanks, striking out 25 and walking just five through 22 innings over six appearances
- Trey Sweeney: 1-for-1, 2 walks, 2 runs scored
- Madison Santos: 2-for-3, 1 triple, 1 double, 2 RBI, 1 strikeout. Santos has maintained a blistering 1.350 OPS with 11 extra-base hits (five doubles, three triples, three home runs) through 15 games
- Jarod Lessar: 1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K
- Christian Sumoza: 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K. Sumoza picked up his first save
DSL Yankees 1 (7-8): The Yankees rallied and scored the go-ahead run in the eighth to beat Cardinals Blue 5-4.
- Star of the Game: Hans Montero – 3-for-4, 1 double, 2 RBI, 1 run scored, 1 walk, 2 stolen bases. Quite the all-around effort for the young shortstop, who’s hitting .298 with six stolen bases
- Alan Mejia: 1-for-3, 1 triple, 1 run scored, 1 walk, 1 strikeout
- Jared Serna: 2-for-3, 2 runs scored, 1 walk
- Allen Facundo: 4 IP, 2 H, 1 ER, 3 BB, 5 K
- Miguel Vargas: 4 IP, 5 H, 3 ER, 0 BB, 9 K. The dominant Vargas earned the win and set a career high for strikeouts
- Ruben Castillo: 1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 1 K. Castillo’s save was his first of the season
DSL Yankees 2 (9-6): DSL 2 blew a five-run lead and surrendered six unanswered runs over the game’s last four innings to lose to Brewers 2 6-5.
- Star of the Game: Gerardo Abrego – 5 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 5 K. Abrego, a 20-year-old from Panama, has put up 15 strikeouts and four walks over his first 10.2 professional frames
- Dayro Perez: 2-for-5, 1 RBI, 1 run scored, 2 strikeouts, 2 stolen bases
- Ramiro Altagracia: 2-for-4, 1 RBI, 1 run scored, 2 strikeouts
