Rookie Monday was punctuated by some late inning heroics in the FCL.

FCL Yankees (7-4): A furious comeback from 4-0 down resulted in a 7-4 win for the Yankees over the visiting Blue Jays.

  • Star of the Game: Dayro Perez – 1-for-5, 1 home run (3), 2 RBI, 1 run scored. With one out in the seventh, Perez went deep to score the tying runs and has a sky-high 1.065 OPS on the season
  • Christopher Familia: 2-for-4, 2 doubles, 2 RBI
  • Alan Mejia: 1-for-4, 1 double, 1 strikeout
  • Justin Lange: 2.1 IP, 0 H, 3 R (1 ER), 4 BB, 4 K. The return in the Luke Voit trade has struggled with control – he’s walked eight in 6.1 innings
  • Sebastian Perrone: 1.2 IP, 2 H, 1 R (0 ER), 0 BB, 1 K
  • Osiel Rodriguez: 4 IP, 3 H, 1 R (0 ER), 0 BB, 3 K. Rodriguez earned the first win of his professional career four years after he signed as a 16-year-old
  • Leam Mendez: 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K. Mendez got the save

DSL Yankees (3-8): The Yanks battled back strong, but then faltered late in a tight 9-7 loss to Cubs Red.

  • Star of the Game: Gabriel Bersing – 1-for-5, 1 home run (2), 2 RBI, 1 run scored, 2 strikeouts. Bersing hit .324 in 24 DSL games last season
  • Santiago Gomez: 2-for-5, 1 run scored, 2 strikeouts, 3 stolen bases

DSL Bombers (7-5): The hot Bombers bats were silenced in a 5-1 loss on the road to Mets 2.
