Anyone who’s followed the Yankees system this season has to be completely dumbfounded by the way the Tarpons crumbled in their playoff series. But as they say, that’s baseball.

Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (69-50): The RailRiders finally finished up their suspended game from Wednesday with a 5-3 win, then lost the regularly scheduled game against Syracuse 7-3.
Game 1
- Star of the Game: Oswald Peraza – 1-for-4, 1 home run (1), 1 RBI, 1 run scored. It only took Peraza one game at the Triple-A level to hit his first home run. His audition to start next season at this level is underway in grand style
- Oswaldo Cabrera: 2-for-3, 1 run scored, 1 walk, 1 strikeout, 1 stolen base. Cabrera had a successful Triple-A debut as well
- Ryan LaMarre: 1-for-3, 1 home run (6), 2 RBI, 1 run scored, 1 walk, 1 stolen base. LaMarre’s home run reversed a one-run deficit
- Greg Allen: 2-for-3, 1 RBI, 1 run scored, 2 stolen bases
- Jameson Taillon: 3 IP, 4 H, 2 ER, 0 BB, 2 K, 51 pitches (36 strikes). Taillon is getting stretched out with an eye towards returning to the Yankees sometime next week
- Hayden Wesneski: 1.2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K, 20 pitches (16 strikes). Wesneski, the third of the trio of debutantes at Scranton, picked up the win
- Brody Koerner: 2.1 IP, 1 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, 2 K, 30 pitches (20 strikes)
- Luis Gil: 2 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 6 K, 42 pitches (25 strikes). Gil locked down the save and looks like a guy who’s too good for this level
Game 2
- Star of the Game: Oswaldo Cabrera – 1-for-3, 1 home run (1), 2 RBI, 1 run scored. Cabrera rounded the quarter-century mark with his 25th homer of the year, and first at Triple-A
- Miguel Andújar: 2-for-4, 1 RBI
- Clarke Schmidt: 4.2 IP, 3 H, 4 R (1 ER), 3 BB, 8 K, 82 pitches (49 strikes). Schmidt labored but also picked up his Ks as he set a season high for punchouts
- Reggie McClain: 0.1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 0 K, 13 pitches (6 strikes)
- Nick Goody: 1 IP, 2 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, 1 K, 17 pitches (11 strikes)
- Ron Marinaccio: 1 IP, 1 H, 2 ER, 1 BB, 3 K, 23 pitches (12 strikes)


Tampa Tarpons: The Tarpons were down 5-3 after three innings, that score held for awhile, and then Bradenton put up a five-spot in the seventh to cruise away with the game and the Low-A Southeast championship. It’s a quiet end to an otherwise spectacular season at GMS Field.
- Star of the Game: Trey Sweeney – 2-for-4, 1 home run, 1 RBI, 1 run scored, 1 strikeout. Sweeney led off the game with a home run, probably the most exciting moment of this series for Tarpons fans
- Jasson Dominguez: 0-for-4, 2 strikeouts. The Martian finishes up his rookie season with a Low-A slash line of .258/.346/.398
- Tyler Hardman: 1-for-3, 1 home run, 2 RBI, 1 run scored, 1 walk. Hardman’s second-inning blast capped off a solid professional debut after going in the fifth round of the 2021 draft
- Benjamin Cowles: 1-for-3, 1 double, 1 walk, 1 strikeout
- Nicio Rodriguez: 2.1 IP, 5 H, 5 R (3 ER), 0 BB, 3 K, 61 pitches (38 strikes)
- Michael Giacone: 1.2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 3 K, 22 pitches (14 strikes)
- Jhonatan Munoz: 2.2 IP, 6 H, 5 ER, 1 BB, 4 K, 50 pitches (38 strikes)
- Carlos Gomez: 2.1 IP, 3 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 2 K, 42 pitches (26 strikes)
DSL Yankees 1 (28-25): The Yanks jumped out to a quick lead and dominated throughout a 9-3 win over the Twins.
- Star of the Game: Felix Negueis – 2-for-4, 1 home run (4), 1 double, 2 RBI, 2 runs scored, 1 walk, 1 strikeout. Negueis is hitting .330 and has a .920 OPS
- Pitching Star of the Game: Luis Serna – 5 IP, 3 H, 2 R (1 ER), 0 BB, 7 K. The 17-year-old right-hander earned his first win of the season
- Alan Mejia: 1-for-2, 1 double, 1 RBI, 1 run scored, 1 walk, 1 strikeout
- Jesus Rodriguez: 2-for-4, 2 doubles, 2 runs scored, 1 walk, 1 strikeout
- Christopher Familia: 1-for-3, 1 home run (2), 3 RBI, 1 run scored, 2 walks
- Miguel Vargas: 4 IP, 3 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 5 K
DSL Yankees 2 (27-26): The Yankees rallied from a six-run deficit to steal a 9-8 win over Giants Orange.
- Star of the Game: Omar Martinez – 3-for-4, 1 home run (5), 1 double, 2 RBI, 2 runs scored, 1 walk. Martinez’s home run in the seventh completed the comeback and put the Yanks on top
- Daury Arias: 2-for-3, 1 double, 2 RBI, 3 runs scored, 2 walks
- Josue Gonzalez: 1-for-4, 2 RBI, 1 walk, 1 strikeout
- Nelson Medina: 1-for-4, 1 double, 1 RBI, 1 run scored, 1 strikeout
- Carlos Rosario: 5 IP, 7 H, 6 R (5 ER), 1 BB, 6 K
- Jan Pena: 4 IP, 1 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, 6 K. Pena picked up the win in long relief
