Pinstriped Performances: FCL, DSL Seasons Begin

The rookie-level teams launched their 2022 campaigns on Monday, with all three of them emerging victorious. The Yankees’ two DSL affiliates will be referred to as the “Yankees” and the “Bombers” this season, switching from the “Yankees 1” and “Yankees 2” designations.

FCL Yankees (1-0): The Yanks rallied from a 9-3 deficit to defeat the Tigers 10-9 in a six-inning contest.

  • Star of the Game: Dayro Perez – 2-for-4, 1 home run (1), 1 RBI, 3 runs scored, 1 walk. After slugging six home runs for the DSL Yanks last season, Perez got his age-20 campaign underway in style
  • Daury Arias: 1-for-3, 1 home run (1), 2 RBI, 3 runs scored, 2 walks
  • Jared Serna: 2-for-4, 3 RBI, 1 run scored, 1 stolen base. Serna stole 24 bases in the DSL last year

  • Ramiro Altagracia: 1-for-3, 1 run scored, 1 stolen base
  • Diomedes Hernandez: 1-for-3, 1 double, 1 RBI

DSL Bombers (1-0): The newly-christened Bombers lived up to their name as they stormed back from a 7-2 hole to defeat Mets 2 by a 9-7 margin.
