Five homers plus another outstanding effort from Glenn Otto paced Somerset to a rout. Hudson Valley split a doubleheader, while Scranton lost a close one in Worcester to kick off the July 4th weekend.

Somerset Patriots (34-18): Five different Patriots homered, including three in the third inning, and Glenn Otto pitched brilliantly as Somerset walloped the Senators 10-0.
- Star of the Game: Oswaldo Cabrera – 2-for-5, 1 home run (8), 1 double, 4 RBI, 2 runs scored, 2 strikeouts. Cabrera’s home run was the only one that was not of the solo variety, and broke the game open as part of the six-run third inning
