Staten Island Yankees (Class-A Short Season): The Staten Island Yankees (3-4) defeated the Brooklyn Cyclones, 10-3.

  • Miguel Flames: 2-for-4, 2 runs scored, 1 home run, 4 RBIs, 1 walk

It was the first grand slam for the Staten Island Yankees since Renzo Martin’s home run on July 27, 2014, against the Connecticut Tigers.  His hitting performance outshined the defensive display he made at first base as well, making several great stretches to get the out at first.

De Leon’s double came in the top of the second inning when he hit a line drive that bounced t off the batter’s eye in MCU Park about a third of the way above the wall. The ball was not called a home run despite the official ground rules for the ballpark stating otherwise.

  • Austin Gardner: 2IP 1H 0R 0ER 0BB 1SO
Threw 16/25 pitches for strikes. Gardner finished the game while fireworks were set off behind the outfield fence. He lowered his season ERA to 10.80 after allowing four earned runs in 1 1/3 innings in his first appearance.

Torres is now hitting .333/.429/1.000 in two games for the Pulaski Yankees with a double and home run.
  • Roberto Chirinos: 2-for-4, 1 run scored, 1 double, 2 RBIs
  • Randy Vasquez: 4IP 5H 2R 0ER 2BB 5SO
Threw 60/84 pitches for strikes (71%). Vasquez signed with the Yankees on May 21, 2018, and appeared in 9 games between the DSL and GCL in 2018. He earned a 1-1 record with a 1.78 ERA, 0.92 WHP and struck out 28 batters over 30 1/3 innings last season.
  • Carlos D. Rodriguez: 1IP 1H 0R 0ER 1BB 2SO
