Hudson Valley moved over .500 at long last, Somerset swept a doubleheader, and Wednesday’s results continued a solid week for all the full-season affiliates except for the Tarpons.

JP Sears (Chris Jones)
Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (25-37): Two wins for the RailRiders to start the week, as they dispatched Rochester 10-6 on Wednesday.
- Star of the Game: Armando Alvarez – 1-for-4, 1 home run (5), 3 RBI, 2 runs scored, 1 stolen base. Alvarez’s home run in the second inning broke a 1-1 tie
- Estevan Florial: 2-for-4, 3 runs scored, 1 walk, 1 stolen base
- Tim Locastro: 3-for-5, 3 doubles, 4 RBI, 2 runs scored, 2 strikeouts, 1 stolen base
- Miguel Andujar: 3-for-5, 1 double, 3 RBI, 1 strikeout
- JP Sears: 4 IP, 4 H, 3 ER, 1 BB, 5 K, 78 pitches (55 strikes). Sears served up three home runs
- David McKay: 1.2 IP, 3 H, 2 ER, 1 BB, 1 K, 28 pitches (20 strikes)
- Braden Bristo: 1.1 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K, 21 pitches (15 strikes). Bristo got his first win of the season
- Michael Gomez: 2 IP, 3 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, 2 K, 30 pitches (21 strikes)


Somerset Patriots (38-21): Somerset shut out the Fisher Cats 2-0 in the first game and stole a 4-3 walk-off win in the second.
Game 1
- Star of the Game: Luis Medina – 6 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 10 K, 84 pitches (57 strikes). By far Medina’s best effort of the season, and prolongs a streak of four starts with at least six strikeouts
- Blake Perkins: 2-for-3, 1 run scored
- Jesus Bastidas: 1-for-3, 1 home run (6), 2 RBI, 1 run scored, 1 strikeout. Bastidas’ two-run shot in the first was all the offense the Patriots needed
- Carson Coleman: 1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K, 15 pitches (8 strikes). Coleman locked down his third save and solidified his grip on the closer’s role
Game 2
- Star of the Game: Blake Perkins – 2-for-4, 1 RBI, 1 run scored, 1 strikeout. Perkins hit the walk-off single in the bottom of the seventh, scoring Anthony Volpe
- Anthony Volpe: 1-for-3, 1 RBI, 1 run scored, 1 walk, 1 strikeout
- Jeisson Rosario: 2-for-4, 2 strikeouts
- Rodolfo Duran: 1-for-3, 1 double, 1 RBI, 1 strikeout
- Josh Maciejewski: 3.1 IP, 3 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 3 K, 50 pitches (33 strikes)
- Barrett Loseke: 2 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, 4 K, 38 pitches (29 strikes)
- Carlos Espinal: 1.2 IP, 1 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, 1 K, 18 pitches (14 strikes). Espinal blew the save by allowing the tying run in the sixth, but was then the beneficiary of the seventh-inning heroics and got the win


Hudson Valley Renegades (30-29): Tyler Hardman and the red-hot Eric Wagaman led the Renegades to an 8-7 win over Greensboro and a winning record.
- Star of the Game: Tyler Hardman – 2-for-4, 2 home runs (6), 4 RBI, 2 runs scored, 1 strikeout. Hardman hit a pair of two-run blasts in the fourth and sixth
- Cooper Bowman: 2-for-4, 1 RBI, 1 run scored, 1 stolen base
- Trey Sweeney: 1-for-4, 1 home run (7), 2 RBI, 1 run scored, 1 walk, 1 strikeout. Sweeney has hit safely in nine of his last 11 games
- Eric Wagaman: 2-for-5, 1 home run (8), 1 RBI, 1 run scored, 2 strikeouts. Wagaman has homered in three straight games
- Matt Sauer: 4.2 IP, 5 H, 5 R (4 ER), 5 BB, 5 K, 87 pitches (53 strikes). Sauer came back down to earth a bit after a string of four straight excellent starts
- Nelson L. Alvarez: 2.1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 2 K, 27 pitches (16 strikes). Alvarez got the win, his fourth of the season
- Tanner Myatt: 2 IP, 3 H, 2 ER, 1 BB, 4 K, 40 pitches (25 strikes). Myatt earned his fourth save


Tampa Tarpons (24-35): The Tarpons managed just two hits in a 5-1 loss to St. Lucie.
- Star of the Game: Yon Castro – 6 IP, 7 H, 5 R (2 ER), 3 BB, 7 K, 85 pitches (52 strikes). Castro gave up two home runs to sully his pitching line but added to his impressive 53:13 strikeout-to-walk ratio
- Alex Vargas: 1-for-3, 1 RBI, 1 walk
- Enrique Santana: 2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 3 K, 33 pitches (21 strikes)
DSL Yankees (2-5): Yankees pitching gave up seven runs in the eighth inning en route to a 13-4 loss to the Twins.
- Star of the Game: Keiner Delgado – 2-for-3, 2 doubles, 1 RBI, 1 walk, 1 stolen base. The young shortstop has seven hits, five of them for extra bases, in his infant career
- Willy Montero: 1-for-4, 1 RBI, 1 run scored, 1 strikeout
- Ramiro Altagracia: 1-for-4, 1 RBI, 2 strikeouts, 1 stolen base
- Christian Zazueta: 2.2 IP, 2 H, 2 ER, 0 BB, 4 K
- Alejandro Gomez: 4 IP, 5 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 4 K
- Ernesto Disla: 0.2 IP, 1 H, 6 R (5 ER), 3 BB, 2 K
- Ronald Roman: 1.2 IP, 2 H, 4 R (3 ER), 3 BB, 0 K
DSL Bombers (4-4): Despite some great pitching, the Bombers couldn’t muster up any offense and lost 4-1 to the Braves.
- Star of the Game: Angel Benitez – 3.1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 9 K. The 18-year-old rookie has 13 strikeouts in 6.2 innings of work
- Hans Montero: 1-for-4, 1 strikeout, 2 stolen bases
- Enger Castellano: 1-for-4, 1 run scored, 1 stolen base
- Alexis Paulino: 2 IP, 1 H, 3 R (2 ER), 2 BB, 3 K
