A rare Monday matinee saw Somerset lose in embarrassing fashion. All other affiliates had the normal day off and will begin their weeks tomorrow.
Somerset Patriots (29-16): The Patriots opened their series in Binghamton on Memorial Day and will take tomorrow off – and they’ll need it after suffering a brutal 13-2 defeat at the hands of their hosts.
- Star of the Game: Jesus Bastidas – 2-for-4, 1 home run (3), 1 RBI, 1 run scored, 1 stolen base. Bastidas hit a garbage-time solo shot to cap off a very successful month of May, during which he slashed .303/.347/.500 with all three of his 2022 home runs
- Elijah Dunham: 2-for-5, 1 double. Dunham slugged .539 this month
- Josh Breaux: 1-for-2, 1 double, 3 walks
- Blake Perkins: 1-for-4, 1 double, 1 run scored, 2 strikeouts
- Sean Boyle: 3.1 IP, 8 H, 10 R (8 ER), 2 BB, 3 K, 73 pitches (50 strikes). Boyle really wore this one. He’s seen his ERA shoot up from 4.07 to 6.75 over his last four starts
- Carlos Espinal: 1.2 IP, 3 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, 2 K, 36 pitches (24 strikes)
- Steven Jennings: 2 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 1 K, 37 pitches (27 strikes)
- Carson Coleman: 1 IP, 2 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, 2 K, 25 pitches (17 strikes). Coleman gave up his first run at Double-A in his sixth inning of work
