As the summer winds down, so too do the rookie-league affiliates. The FCL Yanks will play on until the end of the month as postseason participants; neither of the DSL Yanks teams will do so, as they’ll wrap up next Tuesday.
FCL Yankees (34-14): The Yankees blew a big early lead and fell 10-7 to the Tigers.
- Star of the Game: Jesus Rodriguez – 2-for-5, 1 double, 1 RBI, 1 run scored. Rodriguez is one of the breakout stars of this FCL season, slashing .366/.462/.607 overall
- Daury Arias: 2-for-3, 2 runs scored, 2 walks
- Agustin Ramirez: 1-for-4, 2 RBI, 1 run scored
- Luis Serna: 4.1 IP, 4 H, 4 ER, 3 BB, 4 K
- Nolberto Henriquez: 0.2 IP, 3 H, 4 ER, 0 BB, 0 K. Henriquez suffered the loss
- Cole Ayers: 2.1 IP, 3 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, 2 K
- Carlos Rosario: 0.2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 0 K
DSL Yankees (26-26): The Yanks reached the .500 mark with an 8-3 defeat of Cubs Red.
- Star of the Game: Juan Matheus – 2-for-2, 1 triple, 1 RBI, 1 run scored, 2 walks, 1 stolen base. Matheus has had a wildly impressive rookie season, with an OPS of .908 in 40 games
- Keiner Delgado: 2-for-4, 1 double, 1 RBI, 1 stolen base. Delgado recorded his 15th double and 32nd stolen base
- Manuel Palencia: 1-for-3, 1 double, 1 RBI, 1 run scored, 1 walk, 1 stolen base
- Diomedes Hernandez: 1-for-1, 1 double, 2 RBI, 1 run scored
- Jordarlin Mendoza: 5 IP, 3 H, 3 R (2 ER), 0 BB, 5 K. Mendoza has given up just four earned runs and struck out 25 over his last four starts
- Jordy Luciano: 2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 5 K
DSL Bombers (25-28): The Bombers lost to Cubs Blue, 7-5.
- Star of the Game: Joel Mendez – 1-for-3, 1 triple, 1 RBI, 1 run scored, 1 walk, 2 strikeouts. Mendez hasn’t quite duplicated his breakout 2021, but he has racked up five triples
- Enmanuel Tejeda: 2-for-4, 1 run scored
- Miguel Pozo: 3.2 IP, 5 H, 5 ER, 2 BB, 5 K. Pozo fell to 1-6 with the loss
- Alexis Paulino: 3.1 IP, 4 H, 2 R (1 ER), 2 BB, 5 K
