On the first day of July, the Yankees affiliates went 5-4 in the nine games that were played. Scranton Wilkes-Barre got seven shutout innings from their starter and a strong performance on offense from one of their outfielders. Meanwhile, Staten Island continued their streak of impressive pitching performances and Pulaski’s starter continued his strong start to the year:

Scranton Wilkes-Barre Railriders (Triple-A): The Railriders (47-35) started their series against the Pawtucket Red Sox with a 5-1 win.

Dan Camarena (3-3) threw seven shutout innings in a win for the Railriders. He allowed two hits, struck out four, and walked one on 92 pitches (64 strikes) (Matt Bufano)

  • Clint Frazier: 3-for-5, 1 run scored, 1 double, 3 RBIs (4,5,6).
  • Ryan McBroom: 3-for-4, 1 RBI (37). McBroom is on a five-game hit streak. 
  • Trey Amburgey: 1-for-4, 1 RBI (43).
  • Tyler Wade: 2-for-5, 2 runs scored. Wade is 7-for-14 with four RBIs in his last three games. 
  • Mike Ford: 1-for-4, 1 run scored.
  • Jonathan Holder: 1 IP, 1 ER, 1 H. 11 of 19 pitches were strikes. 
  • J.P. Feyereisen: 1 IP, 0 ER, 1 H, 1 K. 8 of 11 pitches were strikes. Feyereisen hasn’t allowed a run in eight straight appearances. He had a 2.08 ERA in nine appearances in June. 

Trenton Thunder (Double-A): The Thunder (45-33) lost their series opener to the Portland Sea Dogs, 7-1.

 Tampa Tarpons (Single-A Advanced): The Tarpons (34-45) lost their series opener to the Daytona Tortugas, 9-3.

Charleston Riverdogs (Single-A): The Riverdogs (43-39) began their series against the Augusta GreenJackets with a 5-1 win.

  • Max Burt: 1-for-4, 1 RBI (22).
  • Josh Stowers: 1-for-4, 1 RBI (19).
  • Anthony Seigler: 1-for-4, 1 RBI (5).
  • Welfrin Mateo: 1-for-3, 1 run scored, 1 double. Mateo extends his hit streak to 8 games. 
  • Canaan Smith: 1-for-3, 1 run scored, 1 walk, 1 stolen base.
  • Luis Gil (4-3): 5.1 IP, 1 ER, 4 H, 2 BB, 7 K. 57 of 91 pitches were strikes. Gil has allowed two runs or fewer in six straight starts. 
  • Dalton Lehnen: 2.2 IP, 0 ER, 0 H, 1 BB, 1 K.
  • Jefry Valdez: 1 IP, 0 ER, 0 H, 1 BB.

Staten Island Yankees (Short-Season): The Yankees (10-6) started their series against the Tri-City Valleycats with a 9-0 win. They have shut out their opponent in three straight games.

  • Ezequiel Duran: 2-for-4, 1 run scored, 1 double, 1 walk, 1 RBI (7). Duran has drawn a walk in five of the last six games. 
  • Andres Chaparro: 2-for-3, 1 run scored, 2 walks, 2 RBIs (2,3).
  • Oswald Peraza: 1-for-5, 1 run scored, 1 home run (1), 1 RBI (2).
  • Everson Pereira: 1-for-4, 2 runs scored, 1 double. Pereira has at least one hit in five of the last six games. 
  • Leonardo Molina: 0-for-2, 2 walks, 1 RBI (8). Molina has at least one RBI in six straight games. 
  • Mitchell Robinson: 0-for-3, 1 run scored, 2 walks.
  • Wellington Diaz: 6 IP, 0 ER, 3 H, 2 BB, 5 K’s. 49 of his 77 pitches were strikes. Diaz was around 91-93 miles-per-hour with his fastball. He has 22 strikeouts to 3 walks in 3 starts with Staten Island.

  • Ryder Green: 2-for-3, 3 runs scored, 1 walk, 1 stolen base, 1 home run (3), 1 RBI (7).

  • Nelson Alvarez: 1-for-3, 1 run scored, 1 walk, 1 home run (1), 1 RBI (4).
  • Anthony Volpe: 0-for-4, 1 run scored, 1 walk, 1 RBI (1).
  • Chad Bell: 2-for-3, 1 run scored, 1 walk. The 19th Round pick in this year’s draft has had at least one hit in five of the six games he’s played in. 
  • Yoendrys Gomez (3-0): 5 IP, 0 ER, 4 H, 3 BB, 5 K’s. 52 of 80 pitches were strikes. Gomez lowered his ERA to 0.56 in three starts this year. 
  • Luis Ojeda: 2 IP, 1 ER, 4 H, 2 K’s. 21 of 31 pitches were strikes. 
  • Hayden Wesneski: 1 IP, 0 ER, 2 H, 1 K. 15 of 24 pitches were strikes. The 6th Round pick in this year’s draft has recorded a strikeout in each of his three outings. 
  • Elvis Peguero: 1 IP, 3 ER, 3 H, 1 K. 16 of 24 pitches were strikes. 

Gulf Coast League (Rookie): The GCL East Yankees (2-4) lost 6-5 to GCL Tigers West and the GCL West Yankees (2-4) lost 11-6 to GCL Phillies East.

GCL East

  • Jake Farrell: 1-for-4, 1 run scored, 1 home run (1), 2 RBIs (3,4). The 39th Round pick in the 2019 MLB Draft hit the first home run of his professional career. 
  • Starlin Paulino: 1-for-2, 1 RBI (1).
  • Chase Illig: 0-for-3, 1 run scored, 1 RBI (1). Illig was the 29th Round pick by the Yankees in this year’s draft.
  • Felix Negueis: 0-for-2, 1 RBI (1).
  • Miguel Marte: 1-for-4, 1 run scored, 1 double.
  • Alexander Vargas: 1-for-3, 2 runs scored, 2 stolen bases.
  • Clarke Schmidt: 3 IP, 1 ER,  3 H, 3 K. This was Schmidt’s second rehab start. 
  • Yon Castro: 2.1 IP, 2 ER, 3 H, 2 BB, 1 K.
  • Ismael Gomez: 2.2 IP, 1 ER, 2 H, 4 K’s. The four K’s for Gomez ties a career-high. 
  • Nelson Alvarez (1-1): 0.2 IP, 2 ER, 1 H, 2 BB, 1 K.

GCL West

Dominican Summer League (Rookie): The DSL Yankees (12-11) defeated the DSL Mets 1 squad, 9-5.
