On Monday, the New York Yankees affiliates had a winning day. In the 8 games that were played, the teams combined for a 7-1 record. It was an eventful night in Scranton Wilkes-Barre as the Yankees’ top pitching prospect made his Triple-A debut. Plus, Staten Island got a great game from their leadoff hitter, Pulaski put up double-digit runs, and Trenton and Charleston got good outings from their starters.

Trenton Thunder (Double-A): The Thunder (49-41) defeated the Altoona Curve, 4-3.

  • Borinquen Mendez: 1-for-4, 1 run scored, 1 triple, 2 RBIs (1,2). It was Mendez’s second game with Staten Island since being promoted on July 14. 
  • Juan De Leon: 1-for-5, 1 RBI (8).
  • Luis Santos: 3-for-3, 2 runs scored, 1 walk.
  • Jerry Seitz: 0-for-2, 1 RBI (4).
  • Matt Pita: 1-for-2, 2 runs scored, 2 walks.
