The RailRiders have made a statement over the last two weeks, and find themselves within striking distance of the top of their division. Hudson Valley has begun the second half of the season on a run of their own, and Somerset saw a long-awaited debut.

Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (37-43): Scranton won for the eighth time in nine games, defeating Chris Sale and Worcester 4-2 to pull within 6.5 games of four teams tied atop the East Division.
- Star of the Game: Jake Bauers – 1-for-4, 1 double, 2 RBI, 1 run scored, 1 walk, 1 strikeout. Bauers put the RailRiders in front with a two-run double in the seventh
- Phillip Evans: 2-for-3, 1 run scored, 2 walks, 1 strikeout
- David Freitas: 1-for-3, 1 double, 1 RBI, 1 run scored, 1 walk, 1 strikeout
- Clarke Schmidt: 4 IP, 1 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, 5 K, 52 pitches (33 strikes). Schmidt has given up two earned runs in 6.2 innings in his return to Scranton
- Vinny Nittoli: 2 IP, 1 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 1 K, 27 pitches (17 strikes). Nittoli took the win and has a 4-1 record overall
- Shane Greene: 2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K, 24 pitches (18 strikes)
- Greg Weissert: 1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K, 15 pitches (12 strikes). Weissert leads the system with eight saves


Somerset Patriots (47-30): Somerset couldn’t recover from an early 4-0 hole and lost to Bowie 5-4.
- Star of the Game: Mickey Gasper – 3-for-4, 1 home run (5), 2 RBI, 1 run scored. Gasper hit a solo shot in the ninth to cut the deficit to one, but the Patriots couldn’t push across another run
- Brandon Lockridge: 2-for-4, 1 home run (7), 1 RBI, 1 run scored. Lockridge has homered twice in three games
- Austin Wells: 0-for-4, 1 strikeout. Wells made his Double-A debut
- Randy Vasquez: 5 IP, 9 H, 4 ER, 0 BB, 5 K, 88 pitches (66 strikes). Vasquez fell to 0-3 with the loss
- Steven Jennings: 2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 0 K, 18 pitches (12 strikes)
- Carlos Espinal: 2 IP, 3 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 3 K, 34 pitches (24 strikes)


Hudson Valley Renegades (40-37): The ‘Gades won their fourth in a row, scoring seven runs in the seventh and eighth to crush the BlueClaws 9-3.
- Star of the Game: Everson Pereira – 1-for-4, 1 double, 3 RBI, 1 walk, 2 strikeouts, 1 stolen base. Pereira struck the big blow with a bases-clearing double in the seventh inning to break a 2-2 tie
- Anthony Seigler: 1-for-4, 1 run scored, 4 stolen bases
- Carlos Narvaez: 2-for-3, 1 double, 1 RBI, 2 runs scored, 1 stolen base
- Matt Sauer: 4.2 IP, 3 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, 6 K, 88 pitches (54 strikes)
- Edgar Barclay: 3.1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 2 K, 32 pitches (21 strikes). Barclay was the winning pitcher and is 4-2 this year
- Alex Mauricio: 1 IP, 1 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 1 K, 25 pitches (12 strikes)
Tampa Tarpons (34-42): The Tarpons’ matchup with Fort Myers was postponed and will be made up tomorrow.
DSL Bombers (15-10): The Bombers scored five quick runs in the first inning but lost to Cubs Red, 8-6.
- Star of the Game: Hans Montero – 2-for-5, 1 home run (1), 2 RBI, 2 runs scored, 1 walk, 2 strikeouts. Montero has started slowly this year, but he does have five doubles, a triple, and today’s homer to go along with 15 steals
- Joel Mendez: 2-for-5, 1 double, 2 RBI, 2 strikeouts
- Enmamuel Tejeda: 1-for-2, 1 triple, 1 run scored, 3 walks
- Geralmi Santana: 3 IP, 4 H, 5 R (4 ER), 2 BB, 3 K
