Pinstriped Performances: One and Dunham

Somerset lost its third in a row, while the Hudson Valley offense broke out and Scranton walked it off on Thursday.

Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (17-27): Derek Dietrich racked up 10 total bases and helped the RailRiders to a walk-off, 6-5 win over Jacksonville.

  • Star of the Game: Derek Dietrich – 4-for-5, 1 home run (1), 3 doubles, 4 RBI, 2 runs scored, 1 strikeout. Dietrich opened the scoring with an RBI double, hit a two-run homer in the fifth, and drove home Greg Bird with the game-winning double in the tenth

  • Phillip Evans: 2-for-4, 1 double

Somerset Patriots (26-15): Elijah Dunham hit a solo home run, but that was the only hit the Patriots could manage all night as they slumped to another defeat to the Sea Dogs, 3-1.

Hudson Valley Renegades (19-22): The bottom of the order helped carry the Renegades to an 8-5 victory over Rome.

  • Star of the Game: Aaron Palensky – 2-for-3, 1 home run (3), 1 RBI, 2 runs scored, 1 walk, 1 strikeout. The 23-year-old is five for his last 15

  • Matt Sauer: 5 IP, 6 H, 2 R (1 ER), 1 BB, 4 K, 88 pitches (57 strikes). Sauer has completed five innings and allowed just one earned run in back-to-back starts

Tampa Tarpons (20-22): The Tarpons couldn’t overcome giving up six runs in the first inning and lost to Lakeland, 8-4.

  • Star of the Game: Marcos Cabrera – 2-for-3, 1 home run (7), 1 double, 2 RBI, 2 runs scored, 1 walk, 1 strikeout. The 20-year-old was just one for his last 19 prior to tonight’s power outburst

  • Kyle Battle: 2-for-3, 1 double, 1 walk, 1 strikeout
  • Juan Carela: 4.2 IP, 6 H, 6 R (1 ER), 1 BB, 3 K, 93 pitches (58 strikes). An error by Anthony Garcia on the game’s first ball in play set the stage for Carela’s difficult first inning
  • Danny Watson: 1.1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K, 16 pitches (13 strikes)
  • Bailey Dees: 1.1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 3 K, 29 pitches (15 strikes)
