Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (42-45): A quick 5-0 lead held up as the RailRiders handled the Bats, 6-1.

  • Star of the Game: Oswald Peraza – 2-for-3, 1 home run (11), 1 double, 2 RBI, 2 runs scored, 2 walks, 1 strikeout. Peraza hadn’t homered since July 2, and is hitting .242 this month

  • Hayden Wesneski: 6 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 3 BB, 6 K, 88 pitches (54 strikes). Wesneski has posted two straight starts of six innings pitched, no runs, and six strikeouts
  • Zach Greene: 2 IP, 1 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 3 K, 35 pitches (21 strikes)

Somerset Patriots (52-32): It was bombs away for the Patriots in Portland, as they set off plenty of fireworks in an 8-2 defeat of the Sea Dogs.

  • Star of the Game: Blake Perkins – 3-for-4, 2 home runs (8), 1 double, 3 RBI, 3 runs scored, 1 walk, 1 strikeout. Perkins had not homered since hitting six in the month of April
  • Anthony Volpe: 2-for-3, 1 home run (12), 1 double, 1 RBI, 1 run scored, 1 walk. Volpe’s OPS is up to .812
  • Michael Beltre: 2-for-4, 1 home run (7), 2 RBI, 2 runs scored, 1 strikeout, 1 stolen base. Beltre has 21 steals to go with his seven homers
  • Max Burt: 1-for-3, 1 home run (6), 2 RBI, 1 run scored, 1 walk, 2 strikeouts, 1 stolen base
  • Luis Medina: 5.2 IP, 7 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, 3 K, 91 pitches (58 strikes). Medina earned the win to move to 3-3
  • Carlos Espinal: 1.1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K, 9 pitches (6 strikes)
  • Nick Ernst: 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 1 K, 24 pitches (12 strikes)
  • Derek Craft: 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K, 13 pitches (8 strikes)

Hudson Valley Renegades (45-39): The ‘Gades lost their second in a row to Greenville following the eight-game winning streak, this time by an 8-1 score.

  • Star of the Game: Beck Way – 6 IP, 5 H, 4 ER, 2 BB, 7 K, 92 pitches (57 strikes). Way was solid on balance, but as with other starts lately, he had a hard time keeping the ball in the ballpark and surrendered two homers
  • Cooper Bowman: 2-for-4, 1 strikeout
  • TJ Rumfield: 1-for-4, 1 double, 1 strikeout
  • Aaron Palensky: 2-for-3, 1 run scored, 1 strikeout
  • Edgar Barclay: 1.1 IP, 3 H, 3 ER, 2 BB, 1 K, 37 pitches (20 strikes)
  • Ryan Miller: 1.2 IP, 3 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 1 K, 31 pitches (19 strikes)

Tampa Tarpons (38-44): Tampa’s matchup with Daytona was suspended in the bottom of the third with the Tarpons leading 4-0. It will resume tomorrow.

FCL Yankees (20-7): Rain knocked out the Yankees-Phillies game. It will be made up on July 25.

DSL Bombers (18-13): The Bombers lost to Red Sox Blue, 5-1.

  • Star of the Game: Diego Hernandez – 4 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 3 K. Hernandez made the longest appearance of his young professional career
  • John Cruz: 1-for-2, 1 double, 1 run scored, 2 walks
  • Daniel Guerrero: 4 IP, 6 H, 5 R (3 ER), 3 BB, 4 K
