After posting MiLB’s best record during the month of July, what was once unthinkable is now well within sight for the RailRiders. Hudson Valley and Tampa closed out frustrating weekends.

Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (51-48): Scranton stomped the fading Red Wings 9-2 to put the finishing touches on a six-game sweep that brings them within 3.5 games of the division lead, with plenty of head-to-head contests left against all the teams in front of them – starting with this coming week against Buffalo.
- Star of the Game: Estevan Florial – 3-for-5, 1 home run (14), 1 RBI, 1 run scored, 2 strikeouts, 1 stolen base. Florial homered to lead off the game and stole his 30th base
- Oswald Peraza: 1-for-5, 1 home run (14), 1 RBI, 1 run scored, 2 strikeouts. Peraza capped off his July with a slash line of .300/.371/.563 and five home runs
- Oswaldo Cabrera: 1-for-4, 1 home run (7), 1 RBI, 2 runs scored, 1 walk, 3 strikeouts, 2 stolen bases. Cabrera’s hitting streak has reached eight games
- Josh Breaux: 1-for-3, 1 double, 2 runs scored, 1 walk, 1 stolen base
- Ronald Guzman: 1-for-2, 1 home run (6), 4 RBI, 2 runs scored, 1 walk, 1 stolen base
- Ken Waldichuk: 3.2 IP, 2 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, 6 K, 64 pitches (44 strikes). Waldichuk struck out six of the first 10 hitters he faced
- Emmanuel Ramirez: 0.1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 0 K, 8 pitches (3 strikes)
- Ryan Weber: 2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K, 22 pitches (16 strikes). Weber ran his Triple-A record to 3-2 with the win
- Shane Greene: 1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 2 K, 20 pitches (13 strikes)
- Michael Gomez: 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 1 K, 21 pitches (12 strikes)

Somerset Patriots (60-35): The Somerset-Richmond contest was cancelled due to rain, and will not be made up.


Hudson Valley Renegades (50-45): The ‘Gades fell to Brooklyn 7-0 to drop the rivalry series four games to two.
- Star of the Game: Blane Abeyta – 5 IP, 2 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, 7 K, 68 pitches (45 strikes). A severely tough-luck loss for Abeyta, who fell to 4-7 but put up a rock-solid 1.11 ERA in July over two starts and three relief appearances
- Trey Sweeney: 1-for-3, 1 walk
- Jasson Dominguez: 1-for-4, 1 double, 2 strikeouts
- Carlos Gomez: 1 IP, 1 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, 2 K, 35 pitches (19 strikes)

Tampa Tarpons (46-48): Tampa took an early 3-0 lead over Fort Myers but watched it fritter away over the rest of the contest, ending up on the losing side of an 8-6 scoreline.
- Star of the Game: Antonio Gomez – 1-for-4, 1 home run (5), 2 RBI, 1 run scored. Gomez is on a tear lately, with an eight-game hitting streak and a .364/.426/.564 slash line in July

- Jared Serna: 1-for-3, 1 double, 2 runs scored, 1 walk, 1 strikeout. Serna picked up his first extra-base hit in full-season ball
