Pinstriped Performances: Sounds of Silence

On a 1-6 day for the Yankees affiliates, only one of them managed more than three runs: the victorious DSL Bombers. It was a tough day around the system otherwise.

Somerset Patriots (41-23): The Patriots got a home run in the first but faltered the rest of the way and lost to Hartford 3-2, allowing the Yard Goats to move into a tie for first place in the division.

  • Star of the Game: Elijah Dunham – 2-for-4, 1 home run (8), 1 RBI, 1 run scored, 1 strikeout. Dunham’s blast would’ve been of the two-run variety if Anthony Volpe hadn’t gotten picked off first

Tyrone Yulie (John Brophy/Pinstriped Prospects)

Tampa Tarpons (27-37): A blown early lead and a team 3-for-10 with runners in scoring position doomed the Tarpons to a 3-2 loss against Clearwater.

  • Star of the Game: Bailey Dees – 2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 5 K, 38 pitches (26 strikes). Dees’ effort in relief kept the Tarpons close, but the offense could not take advantage
