Corey Kluber and Gio Urshela continued their rehabs as they close in on a return to the Bronx. Elsewhere, Hudson Valley put together another exciting comeback – all for naught – and Tampa dealt with more issues courtesy of Mother Nature.

Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (56-37): A pair of key cogs in the Yankees’ resurgence over the last month came through for Scranton in a 5-2 defeat of the IronPigs.
- Star of the Game: Luis Gil – 6.1 IP, 4 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, 6 K, 95 pitches (55 strikes). Gil has been a godsend for the Yankees lately and being sent down in spite of his performance didn’t seem to shake his confidence
- Hitting Star of the Game: Greg Allen – 2-for-4, 1 home run (3), 2 RBI, 1 run scored, 1 stolen base. Allen went deep in the third to vault Scranton into the lead
- Estevan Florial: 1-for-3, 2 runs scored, 2 walks, 2 strikeouts
- Sócrates Brito: 1-for-3, 1 double, 1 run scored, 1 stolen base
- Trey Amburgey: 1-for-3, 1 RBI, 1 walk, 2 strikeouts
- Max Burt: 1-for-4, 1 double, 1 RBI, 1 strikeout
- Brooks Kriske: 1.2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 1 K, 21 pitches (14 strikes)
- Sal Romano: 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 0 K, 16 pitches (11 strikes). Romano recorded his second save


Somerset Patriots (57-39): Oswaldo Cabrera and Josh Breaux went back-to-back in a big first inning to propel Somerset to an easy series-opening 6-2 win over Akron.
- Star of the Game: Oswaldo Cabrera – 2-for-5, 1 home run (16), 3 RBI, 2 runs scored, 1 strikeout, 1 stolen base. Cabrera stuffed the stat sheet and moved into a tie for eighth in Double-A Northeast in home runs
- Gio Urshela: 1-for-4, 1 run scored, 1 strikeout. Urshela was plunked in the leg in the eighth inning, but stayed in the game
- Josh Breaux: 3-for-4, 1 home run (3), 1 double, 1 RBI, 1 run scored. Breaux came a triple shy of the cycle and lifted his Somerset OPS over .800
- Dermis Garcia: 1-for-4, 1 RBI, 1 run scored, 1 strikeout, 1 stolen base
- Corey Kluber: 3.2 IP, 5 H, 2 ER, 1 BB, 4 K, 60 pitches (39 strikes). Kluber retired seven in a row at one point. It remains to be seen whether his rehab will continue or whether his next stop is New York
- Michael Gomez: 2.1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 2 K, 30 pitches (19 strikes). Gomez moved his record to 2-1
- Barrett Loseke: 2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K, 16 pitches (13 strikes)
- Nick Ernst: 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 2 K, 19 pitches (12 strikes)


Hudson Valley Renegades (60-36): The ‘Gades battled back from a 4-0 deficit to tie the game, but fell to a walk-off home run in the 10th, 6-4.
- Star of the Game: James Nelson – 2-for-4, 2 RBI, 1 stolen base. Nelson, however, also flew out with the go-ahead run on third base in the 10th inning
- Anthony Volpe: 1-for-3, 1 double, 1 run scored, 2 walks, 1 strikeout
- Elijah Dunham: 1-for-5, 1 double, 1 RBI, 1 strikeout. Dunham drove in the tying run in the top of the ninth
- Anderson Munoz: 4 IP, 4 H, 4 ER, 2 BB, 4 K, 73 pitches (47 strikes)
- Edgar Barclay: 1.2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 1 K, 20 pitches (12 strikes)
- Nelvin Correa: 1.1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 0 K, 19 pitches (9 strikes)
- Matt Minnick: 1.2 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 4 K, 31 pitches (24 strikes)
- Carlos Espinal: 1 IP, 1 H, 2 R (1 ER), 0 BB, 2 K, 13 pitches (9 strikes). Espinal surrendered the walk-off blast
Tampa Tarpons (64-29): Heavy rains in Clearwater left a soggy field and led to the postponement of the matchup between the Tarpons and Threshers. It’ll be made up on Friday.
FCL Yankees (24-11): The Yanks won a hard-fought contest over Tigers West, 5-3.
- Star of the Game: Yorlin Calderon – 4 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 5 K. Calderon provided some needed stability in relief
- Grant Richardson: 1-for-5, 1 double, 1 run scored, 3 strikeouts
- Marcos Cabrera: 2-for-3, 2 doubles, 2 runs scored, 2 walks
- Kyle Battle: 1-for-2, 1 run scored, 2 walks, 1 stolen base
- Alfred Vega: 3 IP, 3 H, 3 R (2 ER), 2 BB, 4 K
- Wilser Barrios: 2 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 4 K. Barrios picked up a multi-inning save
DSL Yankees 1 (14-14): The Yanks rode a four-run eighth inning to a 7-5 win over Mets 1.
- Star of the Game: Alan Mejia – 3-for-4, 1 double, 2 RBI, 1 run scored. Mejia is on a roll with a .922 OPS
- Felix Negueis: 2-for-2, 2 runs scored, 1 walk
- Jared Serna: 2-for-3, 1 double, 3 RBI, 1 walk, 1 stolen base
- Miguel Pozo: 3 IP, 1 H, 1 R (0 ER), 4 BB, 2 K
- Allen Facundo: 4.2 IP, 4 H, 3 R (2 ER), 2 BB, 8 K
- Pedro Rodriguez: 1 IP, 1 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, 2 K. Rodriguez earned the win
DSL Yankees 2 (15-13): The Yanks scored an 8-3 win over Orioles 2 in seven innings.
- Star of the Game: Brenny Escanio – 2-for-4, 1 double, 1 RBI, 1 strikeout. Escanio continues to rake to the tune of a .321 average and 1.019 OPS
- Dayro Perez: 1-for-3, 1 double, 1 RBI, 1 run scored, 1 walk, 1 stolen base
- Nelson Medina: 2-for-2, 3 runs scored, 1 walk, 3 stolen bases
- Alex Garcia: 1-for-3, 2 RBI, 1 run scored
- Franklin Corniel: 3 IP, 2 H, 2 R (1 ER), 5 BB, 3 K
- Jan Pena: 4 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, 5 K. Pena got the win, and he now has four straight relief appearances of at least four innings and no more than two earned runs
