As Double-A, High-A and Low-A conclude the regular season, Somerset has some work to do, and Hudson Valley now has a mountain to climb.

Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (65-47): There’s no Triple-A postseason this year, but the RailRiders will still look to finish strong in their last three series. They began this week’s with a 4-2 win over Lehigh Valley.
- Star of the Game: Estevan Florial – 2-for-5, 1 home run (11), 1 double, 1 RBI, 1 run scored, 3 strikeouts. If big-league rosters still expanded to 40, Florial would likely be in New York right now; instead, he’ll have to settle for hitting bombs in Scranton
- Pitching Star of the Game: JP Sears – 6 IP, 7 H, 2 ER, 0 BB, 10 K, 84 pitches (59 strikes). Sears followed up his best outing as a RailRider with another gem
- Andrew Velazquez: 1-for-5, 1 RBI, 2 strikeouts, 1 stolen base
- Donny Sands: 1-for-3, 1 double, 1 RBI, 1 run scored, 1 walk, 2 strikeouts
- Domingo Germán: 2 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 4 K, 25 pitches (16 strikes). Germán finally returned to the mound for the first time since July 31
- Ron Marinaccio: 1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 2 K, 28 pitches (14 strikes). Marinaccio recorded his first save with Scranton


Somerset Patriots (69-45): The Patriots are now tied with Bowie for the second-best record in the league after an 8-6 defeat at the hands of Akron. They have it all to play for moving forward.
- Star of the Game: Dermis Garcia – 1-for-3, 1 home run (29), 3 RBI, 1 run scored, 1 walk. Garcia’s on the doorstep of a 30 home run season with five games to play
- Brandon Lockridge: 2-for-5, 1 home run (9), 1 RBI, 2 runs scored, 1 strikeout. Lockridge is a home run away from double-digit home runs and steals in his partial season at Double-A
- Chad Bell: 2-for-4, 1 home run (5), 1 RBI, 2 runs scored, 1 strikeout. Bell has 21 home runs across three levels this season
- Luis Medina: 5 IP, 6 H, 1 ER, 3 BB, 6 K, 90 pitches (49 strikes). Medina’s posted a 3.86 ERA with Somerset
- Jefry Valdez: 1.2 IP, 2 H, 3 R (2 ER), 1 BB, 1 K, 39 pitches (20 strikes)
- Zach Greene: 1.1 IP, 5 H, 4 ER, 0 BB, 2 K, 35 pitches (27 strikes)


Hudson Valley Renegades (68-47): After being trounced by Greensboro 10-1, the task for the rest of the week is simple: win every remaining game, and the ‘Gades go to the playoffs. Lose even one of them, and the season is over.
- Star of the Game: Elijah Dunham – 1-for-2, 1 home run (9), 1 RBI, 1 run scored, 2 walks. Dunham put the ‘Gades up 1-0 in the second with a solo shot, and it was all downhill from there
- Everson Pereira: 1-for-2, 2 walks
- Carlos Narvaez: 2-for-4, 1 strikeout
- Mitch Spence: 3.2 IP, 4 H, 5 R (4 ER), 4 BB, 2 K, 79 pitches (48 strikes)
- Trevor Holloway: 2.1 IP, 4 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 3 K, 39 pitches (23 strikes)
- Matt Minnick: 1.2 IP, 2 H, 4 R (2 ER), 3 BB, 2 K, 43 pitches (24 strikes)

Tampa Tarpons (72-40): The series opener between Tampa and Fort Myers was postponed until tomorrow, at which time a doubleheader will be played. Tampa’s postseason spot is already secured.


FCL Yankees (33-16): The Yankees rallied for an 8-7 win over the Phillies, while a second scheduled game between the two teams was cancelled.
- Star of the Game: Nelson Gomez – 2-for-4, 1 home run (3), 2 RBI, 1 run scored, 1 strikeout. Gomez has homered in two straight games after not going yard since July 17
- Grant Richardson: 1-for-2, 1 RBI, 1 run scored, 2 walks, 1 stolen base
- Raimfer Salinas: 2-for-4, 1 double, 2 runs scored, 2 strikeouts, 1 stolen base
- Marcos Cabrera: 2-for-4, 1 RBI, 1 stolen base
- Angel Rojas: 3-for-3, 1 triple, 2 runs scored
- Bailey Dees: 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 2 K. Dees, an 18th-round draft pick this year, made his second appearance as a pro and his first scoreless one

- Kyle Zurak: 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 0 K. Zurak’s last appearance before this one was on August 29, 2019

DSL Yankees 1 (25-21): The Yanks swept the Angels in a doubleheader, 5-4 and 11-4.
