Back and forth the pendulum swings between the Renegades and Cyclones at the top of the second-half North Division standings. The weather wreaked havoc in the great white north and the tropics, and the Tarpons put together an incredible comeback.
Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (59-53): The RailRiders were rained out in St. Paul, and they’ll play a doubleheader against the Saints on Saturday.

Somerset Patriots (68-42): Bowie hammered the Patriots 10-2.
- Star of the Game: Jesus Bastidas – 1-for-4, 1 home run (14), 1 RBI, 1 run scored, 1 strikeout. Bastidas is tied for third on the team in home runs
- Anthony Volpe: 1-for-3, 1 double, 1 walk, 1 strikeout
- Andres Chaparro: 1-for-4, 1 RBI, 1 strikeout
- Deivi Garcia: 5 IP, 5 H, 6 ER, 2 BB, 4 K, 79 pitches (50 strikes). Garcia, who took the loss, has made five starts since his return from injury. Three have been good, two have been bad
- Kaleb Cowart: 1 IP, 3 H, 2 ER, 1 BB, 2 K, 21 pitches (12 strikes)
- Barrett Loseke: 2 IP, 2 H, 2 ER, 1 BB, 4 K, 41 pitches (26 strikes)


Hudson Valley Renegades (59-51): The ‘Gades vaulted back into first place with an 11-4 drubbing of the Cyclones.
- Star of the Game: Jasson Dominguez – 3-for-6, 1 home run (3), 1 triple, 2 RBI, 3 runs scored. Dominguez ended up just a double short of the cycle. His season average at High-A sits at .278 with an .856 OPS
- Trey Sweeney: 2-for-6, 1 RBI, 2 runs scored, 1 strikeout
- Tyler Hardman: 3-for-5, 1 home run (18), 1 double, 4 RBI, 3 runs scored, 1 walk, 1 strikeout. Hardman followed up Dominguez with another garbage-time home run in the ninth inning, and himself came just a triple shy of the cycle
- Anthony Seigler: 2-for-3, 1 double, 1 RBI, 3 walks
- Spencer Henson: 3-for-4, 3 doubles, 1 RBI, 1 run scored, 1 walk, 1 stolen base
- Blas Castano: 5 IP, 4 H, 3 ER, 2 BB, 6 K, 73 pitches (51 strikes). Castano improved to 4-7 with his second consecutive start of five innings and at least six strikeouts
- Kevin Milam: 2 IP, 1 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 1 K, 29 pitches (17 strikes)
- Carlos Gomez: 2 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K, 22 pitches (14 strikes)


Tampa Tarpons (52-57): Through some late-inning heroics, the Tarpons snatched victory from the jaws of defeat, topping Bradenton 6-5 in 10 innings.
- Star of the Game: Christopher Familia – 1-for-5, 1 home run (4), 4 RBI, 1 run scored, 2 strikeouts. Familia’s eighth-inning grand slam tied the score at five, and he’s certainly had a flair for the dramatic this season, as his first home run back in July was of the walk-off variety
- Brett Barrera: 3-for-5, 1 double
- Luis Santos: 2-for-5, 1 RBI, 1 run scored, 2 strikeouts, 2 stolen bases. Santos drove in the automatic runner in the 10th inning with a walk-off single
- Zach Messinger: 4 IP, 4 H, 4 ER, 1 BB, 8 K, 75 pitches (46 strikes)
- Leam Mendez: 2.1 IP, 1 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 5 K, 42 pitches (27 strikes)
- Enrique Santana: 1.1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 3 K, 25 pitches (15 strikes)
- Danny Watson: 2.1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 4 K, 38 pitches (21 strikes). Watson moves to 5-3 with the win


FCL Yankees (36-15): The Yankees and Phillies played a doubleheader, with the Phils taking the first game 8-6 and the Yanks returning the favor in the second, 3-2.

- Star of the Game: Daury Arias – 1-for-3, 1 home run (5), 2 RBI, 1 run scored, 1 walk. Arias hadn’t homered since July 7
- Jared Serna: 1-for-4, 1 double, 2 RBI, 1 run scored, 3 strikeouts
- Hemmanuel Rosario: 1-for-1, 1 double, 2 runs scored, 3 walks, 0.1 IP, 1 H, 3 R (2 ER), 1 BB, 0 K. Rosario was called upon for emergency pitching duty because of the doubleheader, and ended up taking the loss and a blown save
- Justin Lange: 0.2 IP, 1 H, 3 ER, 3 BB, 2 K
- Cole Ayers: 2.1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K
- Nolberto Henriquez: 2.2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 3 BB, 2 K

Game 2
- Star of the Game: Rafael Flores – 2-for-3, 1 double, 1 RBI. Flores drove in the winning run in the fifth inning

DSL Yankees (27-27): The Yanks were supposed to wrap up a suspended contest from July 21 and then play another game against Mets 2, but neither happened due to weather. It remains to be seen if either game will be made up.
DSL Bombers (26-30): The Bombers managed just two hits in a 1-0 loss to Mets 1.
- Star of the Game: Edwar Polimir – 4.2 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 3 BB, 6 K. Polimir rebounded back to his July form after two tough starts to open August
- Juan Sanchez: 1-for-2, 1 walk
- Oscar Silverio: 1-for-2, 1 double, 1 strikeout
