Pinstriped Performances: Twin Bills

Lots of games needed making up, and Wednesday was the day. There were seven games across the system even without any rookie-level teams in action.

Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (19-36): The RailRiders rolled over, losing to Syracuse 3-2 in walk-off fashion in the first game and then managing just one hit in a 3-0 loss in the second.

Game 1

  • Star of the Game: JP Sears – 5 IP, 2 H, 1 ER, 1 BB, 3 K, 73 pitches (49 strikes). Sears continues to quietly make his case to be a factor in the Yankees’ plans over the summer
  • Estevan Florial: 1-for-4, 1 double, 1 strikeout
  • Miguel Andujar: 1-for-3, 1 double, 1 RBI, 1 walk

Game 2

  • Star of the Game: Hayden Wesneski – 5 IP, 4 H, 3 ER, 3 BB, 3 K, 83 pitches (56 strikes). Not one of Wesneski’s stronger efforts, but he’s still put together a strong campaign with a 3.71 ERA

  • Max Burt: 2-for-3, 1 run scored
