Randy Vasquez has put together one of the year’s most electrifying stretches following his midseason promotion to High-A. Scranton flirted with yet another no-no on Friday, while Tampa rallied to win another rivalry game.

Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (55-36): Scranton pitching didn’t allow a hit until the eighth inning, and the lineup came through with more than enough offense in a 14-2 smackdown of Worcester.
- Star of the Game: Jonathan Davis – 2-for-6, 1 home run (1), 3 RBI, 1 run scored, 3 strikeouts. Davis hit his first home run in the Yankees organization, a three-run shot to break the game open in the fourth

Hudson Valley Renegades (59-35): The ‘Gades were out-hit 11 to 6, but the Cyclones’ hits were scattered in such a way that the damage was limited and HV emerged with a 3-1 win.

Tampa Tarpons (62-29): Tampa’s six-run fifth inning proved the difference in an 8-4 win over St. Lucie.
- Star of the Game: Blane Abeyta – 5.1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 8 K, 70 pitches (45 strikes). The young right-hander has struggled this year, but his spotless relief innings on Friday are more than deserving of this honor, as he picked up his fourth win
- Trey Sweeney: 0-for-3, 1 run scored, 1 walk, 2 strikeouts
- Madison Santos: 2-for-5, 1 double, 1 RBI, 1 run scored, 1 strikeout. Santos is hitting just .152 since his promotion to full-season ball
- Tyler Hardman: 2-for-4, 1 double, 2 RBI, 2 runs scored, 2 strikeouts. Hardman broke the 4-4 tie in the bottom of the fifth with a two-run single
- Eric Wagaman: 1-for-3, 1 home run (3), 1 RBI, 2 runs scored, 1 walk. Wagaman’s home run to lead off the fifth paved the way for the Tarpons to put the game away in that inning
- Nicio Rodriguez: 3.2 IP, 4 H, 4 ER, 3 BB, 4 K, 70 pitches (34 strikes)
FCL Yankees (22-11): The Yanks managed only three hits and lost to the Blue Jays 4-1.
- Star of the Game: Grant Richardson – 2-for-4, 1 triple, 1 run scored, 2 strikeouts. Richardson is raking in the FCL with a .355 average, and a call across the street may not be long in coming
- Jake Pries: 1-for-3, 1 walk, 1 stolen base

DSL Yankees: Yanks 1 (12-14) and Yanks 2 (13-13) both had games suspended in the top of the first inning, against the Angels and Pirates Gold, respectively. Both games will be resumed on September 14.
