As many of you may know, Pinstriped Prospects has undergone several changes in the past offseason, but we still have the same commitment as ever to get quality Yankees minor league coverage to our readers. We will still be led by our founder, Rob Pimpsner, but as was the case last year, Rob will not be as involved in day-to-day operations as he has been previously.
We announced a month ago today that John Brophy, our Tampa, FL-based reporter for the FCL Yankees and Tampa Tarpons would take over as managing editor. John will continue his coverage for the 2023 season of the teams in Tampa, in addition to the coverage of Yankees Minor League Spring Training.
Alex Kielar – AAA Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders
Alex Kielar has been a member of Pinstriped Prospects since 2020. He began covering the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Railriders as a beat writer in the 2021 season following the 2020 season being canceled. Alex fell in love with the game of baseball at a young age and is a lifelong Yankees fan. Being able to cover their minor league system is a dream come true and a great step in his dream of having a career in baseball. When Alex isn’t watching baseball, he also loves to listen to country music and watch movies. You can follow Alex on Twitter at @AlexTBPK
Bobby Santoro – AA Somerset Patriots
Bobby is a 31-year-old living North Central New Jersey with his wife Megan. They are expecting a baby girl this June. Bobby grew up playing baseball through high school and has always been a fan of the Yankees. He went to college at Florida Atlantic in Boca Raton, FL and later transferred to Rutgers in New Brunswick. He’s also been Packers and Nets fan since he was young and goes out to Green Bay once a year to see them play. In his spare time Bobby plays in a local men’s softball league and enjoys going on hikes and to the bar with his friends and wife (when she’s not pregnant). He looks forward to covering Somerset and being a part of the team! You can follow Bobby on Twitter at @bsantoro112.
Frankie McKenna – High-A Hudson Valley Renegades
Frankie has worked in marketing for 14+ years and has worked with many top brands in the industry from GAP to adidas. In recent years, his career has landed him working in baseball where his true passion lies, where he has worked with the Yankees and most recently Perfect Game. He is very much involved with helping not only grow the team’s brand but player development as well. He is extremely excited for the opportunity to work with the Pinstriped Prospects team and to see how much it can grow. You can follow Frankie on Instagram at @fmckenna28.
Kylie Richelle – High-A Hudson Valley Renegades
Kylie is a photographer and Social Media creator in the sports industry. Working in operations/logistics and media for a lacrosse team during baseball’s off season, Kylie looks forward to the days back in the ballpark, working at the High-A level affiliate of the New York Yankees, the Hudson Valley Renegades, and around aspiring prospects of this organization and more. With a small baseball appropriately tattooed on her forearm, she proudly wears her heart on her sleeve. You can follow Kylie on Twitter at @Kylie6464 and on Instagram at @kylierichellephotography.
John Brophy – Single-A Tampa Tarpons & FCL Yankees
John grew up in the city of the Wiffle Ball, Shelton, CT, and grew up an avid fan of Eastern League baseball with his first baseball game being at Yale Field where the AA New Haven Ravens play (now the New Hampshire Fisher Cats). John moved to the Tampa, FL area in 2009, and has followed the Tampa Yankees/Tarpons since 2013. He primarily covers the two Tampa affiliates in their respective home fields but will occasionally travel with the teams to Clearwater (Phillies) and Dunedin (Blue Jays). You can follow John on Twitter, TikTok and Instagram at @jbrophybaseball.
Carlos Peña – DSL Yankees/International Beat
Carlos was born in Queens, NY, raised in Northern NJ and currently resides in the Ft. Lauderdale, FL area. His father introduced him to baseball, and Don Mattingly’s Yankees in the late 80s. His love for the Yankees and especially homegrown players led him to seek out more information about the next great Yankee, and he began reading minor league box scores, analyzing stat sheets for prospects and future international free agents, which he now combs over obsessively. Carlos will be contributing to Pinstriped Prospects in something new for us and will be covering the action in the Dominican Republic. You can follow Carlos on Instagram at @yankeesfarm.
