Princeton Turns Tables, Steals Game 2

PULASKI, Va. – The Princeton Rays will not go quietly into the Appalachian League Playoff night.

After having the Pulaski Yankees steal Game 1 in Princeton Thursday night, the Rays returned the favor Friday night in front of 1,972 fans at Calfee Park, rallying for a pair of runs in the top of the eighth to edge the Yankees 3-2.

A winner-take-all in the best-of-three semifinal series will be played at 7 p.m. Saturday.

Nestor Cortes pitched 5.2 innings of one-run ball, but Princeton got to Cody Hamlin for four hits and a pair of runs over three innings.

As a result, the teams will face-off in an elimination game Saturday evening.
