PULASKI, Va. – Allen Valerio continued to get hits at key times as the Pulaski Yankees (39-22) notched a 5-2 in over the Bluefield Blue Jays (22-38) Tuesday night in the final regular-season home game at Calfee Park before 1,826 fans.
Right-hander Eduardo Rivera (2-0) earned his second win with 3.1 innings of excellent relief.
The Yankees who will end the evening with at least a five-game lead in the Appalachian League East, will finish the season with four games at Bristol, beginning at 7 p.m. Wednesday, and two at Johnson City. The Yankees finished 26-9 at home.
They certainly will return to Calfee Park for the Appalachian League playoffs.
