Pulaski’s Bats Hammer Princeton Pitching

PRINCETON, W.Va. – The Pulaski Yankees unleashed the heavy lumber Monday night and notched a 10-4 win over the Princeton Rays before 778 fans at Hunnicutt Field.

Austin Afenir, who raised his average to .301, Matt Walsh and Allen Valerio, each picked up a pair of hits, while Frank Frias hit his first homer, to help Pulaski (16-11) move back into a virtual tie for first place in the Appalachian League East with Princeton (15-10).

Righty Simon De la Rosa threw a solid 5.2 innings, allowing just one run and one hit, yo pick up his second win in three decisions. He walked three and struck out four.

Pulaski’s road trip now moves to Kingsport, where the Yankees will engage the Mets in a three-game series opening at 7 Tuesday evening before returning home Friday to host the Bristol Pirates Friday evening at Calfee Park.
