Clubs Will Play Doubleheader on Saturday
Moosic, Pa. – For the third time this season Mother Nature got the best of the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders (3-4) and the Syracuse Chiefs (2-5). Due to inclement weather in the NEPA area, the originally scheduled contest between the Chiefs and RailRiders has been postponed. The two clubs will make up Friday night’s game on Saturday afternoon as part of a double header. The first game of the twin bill is scheduled to begin at 5:35 p.m. with gates to PNC Field opening at 4:30 p.m., with the second contest commencing 30 minutes after the conclusion of the first game. Both affairs are schedule for seven innings. The originally scheduled fireworks display presented by Jack Williams and Kumho Tire will be moved to Saturday while Friday’s 2014 magnet schedule giveaway will be handed out during Sunday’s matinée.
The RailRiders and Chiefs continue their four-game series Saturday evening beginning at 5:35 p.m. SWB will toss right-hander Brian Gordon (1-0, 0.00) against fellow righty Taylor Hill (1-0, 0.00).
