Rain the Winner in Moosic

MOOSIC, Pa. – Persistent rains and the forecast for more forced the postponement of the SWB RailRiders and Lehigh Valley IronPigs on Thursday night at PNC Field. The RailRiders and IronPigs will square off in a doubleheader on Thursday, August 27. The twin bill will feature two seven-inning games. First pitch of game one is set for 5:35 p.m. and game two will follow 30 minutes after.

The RailRiders welcome the second-place Rochester Red Wings (Minnesota Twins) to PNC Field on Friday night. New York Yankees’ right-hander Michael Pineda (0-0, 0.00) will make a rehab start for SWB. He will oppose the Twins’ top pitching prospect, right-hander Jose Berrios (3-2, 3.38). The game will also feature a postgame fireworks show.

The RailRiders will host “Mariano Rivera Day” on Thursday, September 3^rd, against the Buffalo Bisons (Toronto Blue Jays) with an appearance by the Yankees’ legendary closer himself. For more information please call (570) 969-BALL (2255) or visit swbrailriders.com.
