PULASKI, Va. – The top of the Princeton Rays order – shortstop Peter Maris, center fielder Zacrey Law and left fielder Landon Cray combined for five hits and three RBIs as the Rays (23-15) topped the Pulaski Yankees (22-17) 3-1 Saturday night before 2,041 fans at Calfee Park.
The loss dropped the Yankees a game-and-a-half behind the Rays in the Appalachian Conference East.
Right-hander Adonis Rosa dropped his first 2015 decision after five wins. Nathan Mikolas provided the only Pulaski run with a second-inning home run, his fourth, which gave the Yankees an early 1-0 lead.
The teams conclude their three-game home-and-home series at 7 p.m. Sunday at Calfee Park.
