TRENTON, NJ – Tony Renda’s two-run double in the bottom of the seventh inning capped a comeback win, 6-5, over Reading Wednesday night in front of 5,056 fans at ARM & HAMMER Park.

Trailing 5-4, Taylor Dugas walked to begin the inning and Jake Cave followed with a double to put two runners in scoring position. Renda then lined a 1-0 offering from Nefi Ogando into the right field corner to score both runners and take the lead.

Nick Goody allowed just one hit and struck out five batters over the final two innings to finish his fourth save of the season.

The Thunder scored four times in the bottom of the third inning to take a 4-1 lead. Jake Cave (3-for-4, 2 2B, 2 RBI, BB) drove in two with a double and later, Greg Bird drove in Cave with a single.

Reading rallied back with single runs in the fourth, sixth and seventh innings; each time taking advantage of a Thunder error. Cesar Vargas earned his fourth win of the season after the Thunder rally.
