The Arizona Diamondbacks have reportedly returned Rule V draft pick Tyler Jones to the New York Yankees.
Jones was initially selected by the Minnesota Twins in the 11th round of the Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft back in 2011 out of Louisiana State University.
In 2016, the 27 year old right-hander had himself a terrific season at Double A Trenton. He went 6-2 with a 2.17 ERA. Over 33 games, he converted 11 out of 13 save opportunities. In 296.1 innings, Jones struck out 361 batters and walked 111.
Expect Jones to join the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders to begin the 2017 campaign.
