Bryan Hoch of MLB.com has reported that New York will carry eight relivers, four starters, and the fifth starters battle will continue in the minor leagues.
Aroldis Chapman, Dellin Betances, Tyler Clippard, Adam Warren, Tommy Layne, Jonathan Holder, Bryan Mitchell and Chasen Shreve have been named to the bullpen to begin the season.
Masahiro Tanaka, CC Sabathia, Michael Pineda and Luis Severino will enter the season as the Yankees four starting pitchers.
Chad Green will begin the season in Double A Trenton, while Jordan Montgomery will pitch in Triple A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. The pair of starters will pitch on April 6th and April 11th with their respective affiliates competing for the final spot in New York’s rotation.
The Yankees won’t need a fifth starter until their game on April 16th against the St. Louis Cardinals.
