[RiverDogs Preview] RiverDogs Face Off Against First Place Drive

The Charleston RiverDogs return home after a rain abbreviated two game set in Columbia to face the Boston Red Sox affiliated Greenville Drive for four games at Joe Riley Park. Nick Nelson (0-3, 6.75 ERA) will take the ball for the Dogs while Logan Boyd (5-1, 3.98 ERA) climbs the hill for the Drive.

News & Notes:

Charleston ended up getting rained out Monday and Tuesday night in Columbia. They did get a rain shortened doubleheader in on Wednesday, splitting a pair with the Fireflies. They dropped the first game 3-0 while bouncing back in a five inning second game by the score of 10-4.

Nick Nelson is coming off an outing against the Augusta GreenJackets in which he allowed three runs, all earned, four hits while striking out six.

This is the first matchup with the Greenville Drive. The Drive come in with leading the Southern Division with a 28-16 record. The RiverDogs are 23-22 and are five and a half games off the pace in the first half divisional race.
