The Charleston RiverDogs offensive struggles continued in Game 2 of a doubleheader. After only putting one run up on the board in a 3-1 loss in game 1, the RiverDogs were shutout 2-0 on two hits in the nightcap.
Seranthony Dominguez came into the game sporting a 7.04 ERA, but held the RiverDogs in check all game long. The only hit he surrendered was an infield hit by Hoy Jun Park in the bottom of the third. He struckout six, lowering his ERA to 3.95. He improved to 2-1 on the season. Ismael Cabrera came in for the BlueClaws in the seventh to notch his first save of the season.
Wilson Garcia drilled a home run over the left field wall in the top of the fourth inning off Dogs starter Nestor Cortes, who took the loss. He’s now 6-2 with a 0.79 ERA. He gave up four hits and struck out five in 5 innings.
The other run came in the top of the sixth when Damek Tomscha drove in Zach Coppola with a base hit to extend the BlueClaws lead to 2-0.
