Key Story:
The Charleston RiverDogs hit the ball very well tonight. As a team they had twelve base runners over thirty nine plate appearances. While they had that many base runners they didn’t have any extra base hits on the night which contributed to not winning the game as they only got three runs on those twelve base-runners.
Captain Clutch of the Game:
Abaital Avelino came thru with a perfect day at the plate. Abaital went two for two with two runs and an RBI. He also had three of the seven walks that the team had. On a team with a lot of legit prospects, Avelino might be the best one which is scary.
Golden Sombrero of the Game:
A couple hitters took some hit less nights but they don’t get this award. That goes to Luis Severino. A guy with some of the best stuff didn’t have it tonight as he gave up three runs on only two hits and two walks. While he did strike out two this wasn’t the start to the season he nor the Yankees wanted. Hopefully he turns it around as a lot of people think that Severino could be a fast riser in the system.
