Injuries to right-handed pitcher Luis Severino and first baseman Matt Snyder have forced a major shuffle in the Trenton Thunder roster.
Six moves were made prior to Tuesday’s game, won, 6-3 by the Thunder in Portland.
Severino, reported have a blister by George King of the New York Post, was placed on the 7-day DL with a right middle-finger issue officially. Snyder was placed on the same list with a left-ankle injury. Both are retroactive to May 11. Right-hander Alex Smith was also placed on the 7-day DL, also with a right middle-finger issue.
Shortstop Ali Castillo makes a return to the Thunder. He had broken a finger the last day of Spring Training.
“Ali will make his way here when he is healthy,” said Trenton manager Al Pedrique previously.
Also joining the Thunder from Tampa are right-hander Conor Mulee, who was 1-1, 2.13 with four saves and 10 appearances with the T-Yanks, and right-hander Giovanny Gallegos, who was 20, 1.86 in six appearances out of the bullpen in Tampa.
First baseman Greg Bird was placed on the 7-day DL earlier in the week with a shoulder issue.
