SI Yanks Bat Silent in One-Hit Loss

TROY, NY – There is not much to say about last night’s game. The Staten Island Yankees offense was silent. The only Yankees hit in the contest came off the bat of designated hitter Griffin Gordon who had a single in the top of the seventh inning.

Four walks and two Tri-City errors gave Staten Island six additional base runners but they were unable to mount any additional offense.

Right-hander Luis Cedeno got the start for the Baby Bombers and allowed 4 runs, 1 earned, on 7 hits and a walk. He struck out 7 batters, throwing 90 pitches over five innings of work. He was followed by the lefty James Reeves who allowed a run on a walk and 2 hits and struck out 4 batters in his two innings of work. Bret Marks was next on the mound for Staten Island, throwing an inning and allowed a run on a walk and 3 hits.

These two teams will face off again tonight with Matt Borens on the mound for the Staten Island Yankees.
