Smith Dominates Again in Riverdogs Victory

Key Story:

Caleb Smith again dominated the opponent.  Compared to his last full start today was just an ok game as he only went six innings with seven strikeouts.  Subpar when you look at his last full start in which he went six innings and struck out thirteen.  Today no one could touch him as he only gave up two hits and no walks.  The 22 year old is too advanced for this level.  He really should be in Tampa and I believe he probably only gets one more turn in the rotation before getting bumped up.

Captain Clutch of the Game:

Abiatal Avelino wins the award today as he went two for four.  He had a double and a run.  Avelino is the potential replacement for Jeter and he has impressed scouts especially as a base runner.  According a source he backed up what Law said Avelino was a 45 runner.  This scout agreed but said his plus instincts made his speed play up.

Golden Sombrero of the Game:

Michael O’Neil gets this award again.  Strikes out just keep piling up for O’Neil as he had another two.  He then hit into a double play also so his four at bats he made five outs.
