SWB RailRiders Unveil 2016 Schedule

Moosic, Pa. –The SWB RailRiders (Triple-A/New York Yankees) are excited to unveil the schedule for their 2016 campaign. The campaign kicks off on Thursday, April 7 with a two-game homestand against the Rochester Red Wings (Minnesota Twins).

Standard start times for the 2016 season include 6:35 p.m. for games Monday through Thursday and 7:05 p.m. for Friday games in April and May. The first four Saturday games will start at 4:05 p.m. with the remaining Saturday contests getting underway at 7:05 p.m. In June, July and August standard start times are 7:05 p.m. for Monday through Friday games. All of the Sunday home games at PNC Field in 2016 will start at 1:05 p.m.

Earlier start times include 10:35 a.m. first pitches on Tuesday, May 10, and Wednesday, May 25. The RailRiders will have 12:05 p.m. start time on Wednesday, July 27.

Fans will get plenty of opportunities to watch the RailRiders take on their division rivals. SWB will face the Lehigh Valley IronPigs (Philadelphia Phillies) in year four of the IronRail Series a total of 18 times with 10 of those contests scheduled for play at PNC Field. The RailRiders will play a total of 15 games against the Pawtucket Red Sox (Boston Red Sox) with eight of those games coming at PNC Field.

The RailRiders will host the IronPigs on Mother’s Day (May 8) and Independence Day in 2016. The schedule features 12 spectacular fireworks shows, including Opening Night on April 7 and the Fourth of July.

The RailRiders will release the full promotional calendar with giveaway dates, theme nights and more at a later date. Part of that docket will include the annual Yankees Legends Game along with Yankees celebrity appearances.

The RailRiders continue their series with the Lehigh Valley IronPigs (Philadelphia Phillies) on Wednesday night with a first pitch at 7:05 p.m. from PNC Field. Right-hander Brady Lail (1-1, 4.50) makes his fourth start for SWB and is scheduled to face left-hander Anthony Vasquez (7-5, 4.45). The RailRiders will host “Mariano Rivera Day” on Thursday, September 3rd, against the Buffalo Bisons (Toronto Blue Jays) with an appearance by the Yankees’ legendary closer himself.
