T-Yanks allow just 1 hit as they sweep Cards

The Tampa Yankees completed a four game series versus the Palm Beach Cardinals in a series sweep Monday night in a 2-0 win in which Tampa Yankees’ pitchers allowed just 1 hit by Palm Beach.

LHP Dan Camarena (ERA 2.83) had a stellar outing in which he no-hit the Cardinals until the top of the sixth inning. Camarena improved on his record (3-3) in his six inning outing in which he struck out 3 and walked just one batter. Fellow pitchers LHP Dietrich Enns (ERA 1.61), RHP Stefan Lopez (ERA 7.20) and LHP James Pazos (ERA 3.66) all no hit Palm Beach in the remainder three innings with a combined eight strikeouts.

Offensively, the T-Yanks got on the board in the bottom of the fourth as Eric Jagielo scored off a RBI single by Trent Garrison. In the bottom of the 5th Jake Cave doubled and later scored after Greg Bird grounded into a forced out.

The Tampa Yankees will take on the Clearwater Threshers on Tuesday night at George M. Steinbrenner Field as RHP Rafael De Paula (ERA 3.06, 1-1)takes the mound for the Yanks against RHP Jake Esch (ERA 5.93, 1-1).
