The Tampa Yankees and RHP Jonathan Holder (ERA 2.15) built upon the momentum from last night’s game and were able to hold the Clearwater Threshers to just two hits on the night and take the 3-0 victory as they completed the three game sweep.

The Tampa Yankees took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first which started with a double by Abiatal Avelino on a ground ball to left field. Tyler Wade then walked and Miguel Andujar was batting Avelino and Wade both stole bases to put runners on second and third. Andujar then grounded out to send Avelino home. Mike Ford then hit a RBI single on a ground ball to send Wade home.

In the bottom of the fifth, a solo homerun by Ericson Leonora on a fly ball to left field added to Tampa’s run total as they took a 3-0 lead.

Holder pitched six shutout innings, allowing just two hits and struck out five batters. Giovanny Gallegos (ERA 1.69) then pitched the seventh inning with no hits allowed. Luis Niebla (ERA 0.47) then pitched a hitless eighth inning, striking out one and Andury Acevedo (ERA 1.10) and then pitched a hitless ninth inning while striking out two batters.
