
After splitting a doubleheader on Saturday night, the Tampa Yankees and Brevard County Manatees were back at George M. Steinbrenner Field on Sunday afternoon for the final game of the series. After falling behind, the T-Yanks were able to pickup the 4-1 win and take the series victory over the Manatees.
The Manatees got on the board first in the top of the third when a fielding error by the Yanks’ Tyler Wade led to the Manatees Christopher McFarland scoring.
Tampa took a 3-1 lead in the bottom of the third which began with a two run single by Mike Ford with Abiatal Avelino and Mark Payton on base. Ford later scored after Ty McFarland was able to reach on a fielding error by Brevard’s Taylor Brennan.
The T-Yanks were able to tack on one more run in the bottom of the eighth with a RBI double by Ty McFarland.
RHP Anyelo Gomez (ERA 2.25) took the start for Tampa and pitched four innings allowing three hits and one run; striking out four batters. RHP Matt Marshall (ERA 5.68) then took over pitching duties with the fifth and sixth innings allowing just two hits while striking out two and earning the win (1-0). Philip Walby then pitched a no-hit seventh inning and Angel Rincon (ERA 3.04) pitched the eighth and ninth innings with just one hit allowed and earned his sixth save of the season.

The Tampa Yankees will now start a three game series against the Dunedin Blue Jays at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium. LHP Chaz Hebert (6.3, 3-2) will take the start on Monday in the first game of the series.
