The Tampa Yankees were at McKechnie Field on Thursday night to take on the Bradenton Marauders in the third game of this series, however this match-up ended the same as last two as they dropped their third straight, this time 4-0.
LHP Chaz Hebert (ERA 2.61), made his first start in the T-Yanks starting rotation after the promotion of Eric Wooten to Double-A Trenton. Hebert pitched 6 innings allowing 3 hits and 1 run; not a bad first outing for the newbie. But, it was RHP Alex Smith (ERA 1.93) that allowed three more runs by the Marauders as they extended their lead to four runs.
Offensively, there just wasn’t enough to get anything started to bring home runs for Tampa. Jake Cave had a double, and Cito Culver was 2 for 4 on the night. Dante Bichette Jr., Zach Wilson and Danny Oh each had a hit on Thursday.
Hebert was charged with his first loss as the T-Yanks drop to (26-27) on the season, and below. 500.
The Tampa Yankees will take on the Marauders in the fourth and final game of the series on Friday night at 6:30pm.
