T-Yanks Fall Short In 1-0 Loss

After a dominant performance on Tuesday night, the Tampa Yankees fell to the Brevard County Manatees in a slim 1-0 ballgame on Wednesday night at George M. Steinbrenner Field.

Lefty Chaz Hebert (ERA 3.27, 6-6) took the start for the Yanks versus the ‘Tees Brandon Woodruff (4.03, 2-5).

In the top of the second, the Manatees scored the one and only run of the game as Dustin Houle hit a RBI single on a line drive to left field to score Garrett Cooper.

Hebert pitched six innings, allowing just one run off of seven hits while striking out three batters as he was charged with the loss as he was unable to get any run support from the T-Yanks. Luis Niebla (ERA 2.70) worked the final three innings of shutout ball with just one hit allowed and struck out one.

As for Brevard County Woodruff went seven shutout innings, allowing just four hits, walking one and striking out four.
