GCL Team One
Key Story:
Eric Jagielo started his rehab assignment on his way back from injury. He is a lot better then the competition as he went two for two with a homerun and a walk. Hopefully he is only down for a few game before rejoining Tampa.
Bichette/Katoh Award of the game:
Bryan Cuevas had a good game as he went two for four with a homerun and a walk
Notes:
Ty Hensley continues to try to get back from multiple injuries that are threatening his career. He went three innings with three strikeouts. Hopefully he stays healthy and can his full season debut next year.
Mateo Watch:
Jorge Mateo didn’t play so he is still at ten stolen bases in nine games.
GCL Team 2
Key story:
Unlike the GCL team one team two isn’t nearly as talented. But they won today because the offense stepped up and scored nine runs. There are some interesting players on this team but not nearly like team one.
Bichette/Katoh Award of the game:
Frank Frias went four for four with a triple, a walk, two runs scored and an RBI. This is the best player on the team and all he does is hit. It’s amazing.
Notes:
Adam Kirsch an undrafted player that the Yankees signed this year made his debut and it was a good one. He went two for five with two runs scored, a homerun and five RBI’s. Nicely done.
