Vidal Leads Pulaski to Win over Bluefield

PULASKI, Va, – Carlos Vidal’s three-run homer put the finishing touches on Pulaski’s 7-4 Appalachian League victory over the Bluefield Blue Jays Saturday afternoon before a holiday crowd of 1,838 at Calfee Park.

Vidal was 3-for-4 in the game, lifting his batting average to ,300 as Tony Franklin’s club evened its dark at 6-6, dropping Bluefield to 5-7. Righty Garrett Mundell, a Fresno State product taken in the 23rd round in last month’s draft, won his second game in relief by tossing a scoreless inning.

Pulaski will welcome the Danville Braves at 7 p.m. Sunday in the opener of a three-game series.
