PULASKI, Va. – Carlos Vidal and Kendall Coleman each homered as the Pulaski Yankees (21-14) used a 9-run bottom of the eighth to overtake the Kingsport Mets (17-17), 14-9, in Appalachian League play before 1,376 fans at Calfee Park Tuesday night
Center fielder Vidal, hitting ,313 overall, drove in five runs. Righty Garrett Mundell improved to 4-0 as the Fresno State product threw 2.1 innings of scoreless relief.
The victory allowed the Yankees, who host Kingsport at 7 Wednesday night at Calfee Park, to retake first place in the Appalachian Conference East by a half-game over the Princeton Rays.
