Webb Throws Shutout Inning But Surprise Falls

New York Yankees pitching prospect Tyler Webb through a shutout inning of work for the Surprise Scorpions but they were no match for the Glendale Desert Dogs.  Webb came into the game in the sixth inning and through just 10 pitches, 8 for strikes, getting a pop out, ground out and fly out after a single to get out of the inning unscathed.

Webb was the third of the Yankees’ three Tyler’s to appear in the game.  The first being Tyler Austin who was in the starting lineup for Surprise at first base.  Austin went 1-for-4 with 2 RBIs in the game, his lone hit came in the bottom of the third when he hit a 2-out bases clearing double.

The second Tyler to appear in the game was shortstop Tyler Wade who went hitless in 4 at bats in the game, batting ninth.  Wade did reach base in the bottom of the seventh inning when the Glendale first baseman committed an error.
