Winter League Report: Cortes Allows 2 Runs in DWL

Left-handed pitcher Nestor Cortes allowed two runs on four hits and two walks over four innings in his start for Estrellas Orientales of the Dominican Winter League.  Cortes struck out four batters in the game.

Mike Ford went 1-for-3 with a double, a run scored, RBI and a walk.  Elsewhere in the DWL, Abiatal Avelino was hitless, going 0-for-3 while playing shortstop for Gigantes del Cibao.

Wilkin Castillo came in as a defensive replacement at catcher for Leones del Escogido but went 0-for-2 at the plate.  Tyler Austin went 0-for-1 for Escogido, but walked three times in the game.

Over in Venezuela, Luis Cedeno allowed a run on two hits and walk over an inning of relief for Caribes de Anzoategui.  Catcher, Francisco Diaz went 0-for-3 for Bravos de Margarita.
